Mysore's agricultural landscape is defined by diverse climates, soils, and farming practices, which creates unique challenges for global sustainability compliance. Small scale farmers face limited resources and technology, while larger farms, though better equipped, still struggle with market positioning and adherence to standards. A baseline study highlighted the varied agronomic practices and socio economic realities, prompting our partner to aim for full compliance with best practices, environmental standards, and responsible pesticide usage.

1. Cost optimisation: farmers faced significant difficulty optimising the costs associated with cultivation.
2. Data delays and inaccuracies: paper based data collection led to delays and errors, hindering timely decisions.
3. Limited insights: a lack of real time analytics made it difficult to monitor and improve farming practices.

Crop Analytica's approach

Understanding the need for accessible, actionable data, we developed a user friendly compliance dashboard designed for Mysore's farming community. It served as a central hub for tracking compliance across regulations and practices.

• Water usage: the system helped monitor and optimise water use, with 62 percent of farmers in Chilukunda and 48 percent in Hunsur adopting green manure crops.
• Fertiliser application: 92 percent of farmers in Chilukunda and 62 percent in Hunsur applied the recommended fertiliser dosage, reducing overuse.
• Pest management: full adoption in Chilukunda and 77 percent in Hunsur followed IPM recommended chemical usage, with application maintained at three times per season.
• Crop yield: better resource management and timely interventions improved yields.
